The Theological Seminary is located in a nearby suburb of St. Petersburg, 2 km from the city limits.
Reaching the Seminary by bus
In order to visit the Seminary while in St. Petersburg one can take the suburban bus #476 or #476 from the subway station Lomonosovskaja. Once the bus has reached Novosaratovka, one must exit at the stop “Shkola” (school). From there it is necessary to walk along the edge of the cemetery on the dirt road leading toward the Neva (about 1/8 miles). At the end of that road stands the Theological Seminary’s campus - two large, two-story, yellow buildings. The smaller building is the “Katerina Luther House” administrative building, and the larger building is the Seminary itself.
To come to the Theological Seminary by car
From St. Petersburg:
Follow Oktjabarskaja Nab. (fat dotted line on the colored map) past the city limits and the highway patrol (GAI) post. Follow this road into the village of Novosaratovka until just past the “2” kilometer sign; you must take a right (toward the Neva) at the first bus stop past this sign. (For the dark time of the day: After the street lamps end, turn right at the crosswalk sign.) Follow the road along the cemetery – you’ll see two large, yellow buildings approx. 700 meters from the bus stop. This is the campus of the Theological Seminary.
From the Ring Road (KAD):
Take the Oktjabarskaja Nab. exit (i.e., the exit just past the suspension bridge if heading north (thin red line) on the ring road, or just before the suspension bridge if heading south (thin dotted line) on the ring road.) Follow the only available road around the curves until the road reaches a “V.” Take the farther left of these two roads. You’ll then have no choice but to follow the road as it curves around and up, finally coming down again at the entrance to the village of Novosaratovka. From there, drive through Novosaratovka until just past the “2” kilometer sign; you must take a right (toward the Neva) at the first bus stop past this sign. Follow the road along the cemetery – you’ll see two large, yellow buildings approx. 700 meters from the bus stop. This is the campus of the Theological Seminary.
If you are near Lomonosovskaya, it might be better to drive over the suspension bridge (thin violet line) instead of Volodarskaya bridge, to avoid traffic jams. How to get on and off the bridge is shown in detail here:
