30.11.09 - Death of former ELCROS Archbishop Kretschmar

Former ELCROS Archbishop Georg Kretschmar died on November 19th at the age of 84. After a very fruitful academic career as a church historian in Germany, Dr. Kretschmar served  in ELCROS (with the title 'Archbishop' starting in 1999) from 1994 to 2005. He contributed an incredible amount to the growth and development of the church in this time of great change. Our seminary is particularly thankful to him for the role he played in the foundation of the seminary and for the enormous collection of books he left to the library. All at the seminary would like to express their condolences to Dr. Kretschmar's family and friends.
