22.03.10 - Beginning of spring semester, Lent
In spite of an unusually snowy and long winter with the difficulties it caused in transport, electricity and heating we successfully conducted the regular course for extension students in January - we had a special guest, Rene Krueger from Argentine who taught a three-day block of lectures on diaspora life, after which we worked on our scheduled topics of baptism and funeral; the spring semester for regular students began, as usual, in February.
In this semester Evelin Albrecht, former member of the High Consistory in the German church, has come to us and is intensively teaching Apocalyptics and Church Pedagogics (Congregational Dynamics) until the end of March. She is also cunsulting and actively helping us with our preparations for Easter and has already been invited to St. Peter's church and to St. Catherine's Church to preach. She is in Russia for the first time and is impressing us all with her freshness of perception, her readiness to learn (not always found among those with so much experience), and in leading positions, too.
Our graduate Elena Bondarenko is teaching biblical subjects independently now: Pentateuch and New Testament Theology. She has been blessed as a preacher but at present her main ministry is teaching.
